I wonder why any time my llmd/ PA prescribes factive it is always 5 days on, 5 days off- and I repeat this cycle for weeks at a time. ??
Anyone have insight??

Hubby's doc started him on this med 7 days on and 7 days off. But he found he did better on the 5 days on and 5 days off. Then he did even better taking it every day. Now after several months he takes it 5 days per week.
I think the docs are still experimenting on optimum protocols with this med.
The most likely reason for the break is to protect against tendon issues. This med is supposedly stronger than levaquin.
