I have been on my new regimen for a week now. For the past 2 days, I have mild heart fluttering that comes and goes. No pain at all, just an annoyance. I was wondering if anyone else had this? Is it a side effect of the abx or the abx going into the heart tissue/organ itself that may be causing this or a die off?

Many of us get this, but your doc needs to make the call. It could be loss of electrolytes. Or it could be heart block, etc. Caused by the infection and nerves.

Could also be your Thyroid levels. I would have a complete Thyroid panel drawn. I had these symptoms along with anxiety and the Thyroid meds (beta blockers)cured both. Now with ABX treatment my Thyroid has leveled out and I stopped the beta blockers. The endocrinologist said this is normal with Lyme. I see him again Friday to follow up and check levels again.

Doxycycline is the First abx on that treatment history list you give that really "goes after" Lyme, geo. Duhh! You're probably "herx-ing".
I agree w/ all the folks above. Not likely a serious issue... very common, actually... but let your doc make the call. Keep a diary of when you notice it & how severe it is. Then inform your doc. -M
P.S: Hmmm... Why o why would he/ she have you on "Zith", by itself, for a Month to start?? That intra-cellular macrolide isn't considered particularily effective against Lyme. Maybe they were treating a co-infection to start?

On doxy and azith. Feeling better overall. Tested negative for all coinfections and mycoplasma, but doc thinks I may have bart. Believe his plan was to go after coinfections first and then hit lyme. Also, didn't want to use doxy in the summer.

You need to get it checked out. Something is irritating your heart. Probably the infection but you never know. I had to wear a holter monitor for 24hrs and got put on a heart med atenolol to stop the palps.

I had the palps bad, had EKG, Echo and stress test..shows I am perfectly healthy heart wise. The palps subsided significantly. I found that taking an ativan whenever it was "intolerable or severe" really helped me.
Firstly breathing, warm (not hot) relaxing baths, meditating. This gave me several Ativan free days. I do not like taking pain meds or anti anxiety meds.
