Wondering ? how many of us have this diag? and how many have had Ulcers because of it?
Just had a scope from each end yesterday and was told I have an esophageal ulcer, hiatal hernia, and tests show H pylori.... I also have hypothryoid which I'm finding is connected.
Anyone else have all this crap with treatment or am I just turning out to be a train wreck?

I think H-Pylori is so common that when the immune system takes a dive, it just takes off. I think most people have it, but it normally does not cause a problem.
I had it bad for a while, although I do not have Lyme. I beleive it was my excessive antacid use that allowed it to take off into my stomach.
My wife, Who does have Lyme, did develop problems with H-Pylori, as judged by her symptoms. She never had the problem prior to her Lyme Disease, but seemed to be a result of it.
Once I treated her for it, the problem resolved itself.

I tested positive for it and posted some info in the past. HP is a suggested cause of many issues besides ulcer. It is thought to play a role in some hormone disruption, especially GH, and also to deplete iron stores.
As DB says, HP is very common but the immune suppression caused by lyme may allow HP to take off...
