Does anyone else get hot flashes? I am not going through menopause; I'm only 31.

Could this be babesia?

Definitly yes. Have them all the time and they are not hormonal.

They do come and go with treatment.

For me, they are babesia.

Every morning, I have to stick my head out the window or step outside. Even in the dead of winter, so I don't expire from the "heat"!

It can be bartonella or babesia. From what I read babs is usually with a drenching sweat but bart there is no sweating or it is a thick sticky sweat.

I only had the hot flashes so I thought I just had bart but lately I have been sweating as well as having air hunger so. . . . off to see another LLMD in November.

I'm 33 and i have them too. But, not always. I also think it is hormone related. Could also be babs, I guess. I know my hormones are stil lscrewed up but don't know if I still have babs.

azdaisy-I never heard abx could mess with your hormones. Do you have a link to that info? I'm only asking because I have these hot flashes too and thought they were better when off abx. Then, I convinced myself that couldn't be the case.

Well, lyme can attack you gynecologically and cause a false menopause and/or various symptoms of menopause.

It happened to me and to many women I have met. It happens to women in their 30s who have lyme.

It can happen to a woman of any age who has lyme.

Lyme shrunk my ovaries. Every gyn I saw remarked on it. They all classified me as first peri-menopausal and then menopausal.

When I finally got good lyme treatment, all my menopause symptoms reversed. Then, I was classified as pre-menopausal. I finally went through the true menopause a few years after I got rid of lyme.

If you are being attacked gynecologically, your estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone can be very low. I had to take hormone replacement therapy due to this. Once I got rid of lyme, I was able to stop the hormones.

You may want to ask your gyn to test these hormones for you. If they are way out of normal range, it could help some of your symptoms to take some hormone replacement.

Most importantly, replacing needed estrogen will protect your bones. Without sufficient estrogen, your bones deteriorate and you can end up with osteoporosis down the road.

You will find it out years later by getting a bone density test.

So, I urge you to find out if your hormones are in the normal range and if not to take hormones to protect your bones, help your energy and mental alertness, and also help you emotionally while you work on getting rid of lyme disease.

Since I started LDN in addition to my 3 antibiotics last August, I also started with hot flashes. My cycle stopped at the same time but I'm 49.

Lyme definitely messed up my hormones several years ago when all my weird symptoms began and my gyno said it was just my age!! From the moment I started treating for Lyme with doxy, my cycles returned to normal for 4 months before I added in the LDN.

Any advice? Should I give up the LDN to see what happens?

Thanks for this thread. I will call my gyno for some hormone testing.

Best,
