Currently on Doxy 2x daily. I was on it last year and had the same problem I am having now.

How do I eat while taking Doxy? It reduces my hunger to almost nothing, makes me nauseasous all the time, and will make me vomit if I don't eat anything when I take it.

Any tricks to being on this medicine long term?

Have you tried taking it in the middle of your meal? And take it with a full meal not just a small snack. Then try sitting up for at least an hour after eating.

You may also look into taking a chewable DGL tablet about 30min before eating. It will help coat and protect your esophagus. I like the Enzymatic Therapy brand sugar free DGL. You can find it on iherb.com or your local health food store.

If that isn't enough you may need to ask your doctor for something like Prevacid or Zantac.

I have been on Doxy for a year and a half. I take it in the middle of a meal and it doesn't make me sick that way.

I took prilosec for a while but don't seem to need it as much anymore. Take prilosec or any other similar meds several hours away from Doxy.

That is the key! Take it in the middle of a meal and do not lie down for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Taking it without food is hazardous to your stomach!!
