Hello all. I'm new here...feel way behind in the game. It's looking like I have Neurolyme, and have for 20 yrs maybe, though blood tests were inconclusive. My Dr now is with an alternative clinic. I'm about to start tick borne protocol of natural antibiotics. I see a lot of people going natural after years of antibiotics. My ? is: has anyone done this 1st?

Also concerning Neurologists: am I wasting my time to see whomever? Do I need to find an LLND?
thank SO much [bow]

Yes, I did that. The natural approach has failed me in most ways, helped in others. Even the best LL NDs use Rx to get the job done.

A neurologist is usually no help, I suggest finding a good LLMD if you suspect neuro-lyme. A good LLMD will also assess for other chronic stealth infections. There are many. Herbs, alone, will likely not cut it with late stage neuro-lyme.

I can't type more as the moving icon has me too dizzy.

You'd want to compare authors here:

There are a few people that see LLMD's that are known to use antibiotics AND alternative medicine, and they tell the doctor they only want to use herbal and alternative stuff. But there are only a handful of LLMD's that would be able to help you out like that.

In general, I find most ND's aren't very educated about Lyme specifically. If you find one that is, that would be a bonus I suppose. I would go into it with skepticism, because most ND's will try to strengthen the body overall, and assume that will eradicate Lyme. Which it won't.

A good book to check out would be "Healing Lyme" by Stephen Buhner. It's all about herbal treatment of Lyme.

I think the general consensus among patients is that natural is not as effective as antibiotics, but who knows what is right for each individual. Personally, if I had Lyme, I would only do an all natural protocol if I had tried the antibiotic route, and there was some reason that I couldn't do antibiotics.

Going natural after abx is just a way to prevent relapse, when you've seen some improvement from the abx. So doing it the other way around wouldn't be as effective.

It depends how sick you are, and how ready you are to hit it hard. I would not waste my time with herbals first, like Keebler said.

Don't waste your time on natural abx. I did. Go straight to the LLMD and do the abx. You will see the most progress on these.

When you are doing better, you might want to add some natural abx and supplements just to help things along, but they are not the best choice for the first line of offense, IMO.

Just my experience.

I don't agree with you guys above. I only use ABX when I can't find other alternatives. It is my last resort.

I'm out of chronic lyme for 18 months now. Meaning, out of lyme treatment for 18 months. I'm taking no natural boosting stuff, no herbs, no chemicals to be on total remission. And I got it all, more than one babesia infection, mycoplasma, rickettsia, bartonella, candida, borelia garinii, I even can't remember anymore the list....

I fought lyme for 4 years, not only one infection, but many tick bites in between, and a couple of relapses.

ABX and herbs are not very 'intelligent' treatments. They are chemical treatments, so need constant intake to treat the disease. It can be neverending, a very long process as many of you know. Same seems to happen with Rife and currents.

They all work to a certain extent. Abx, herbs and rife, they all work, but they are very short term and need constant treatment / intake to get rid of the bacteria.

You need a sort of neverending change and intake or they won't work. Then other neverending intake of cleansers...

And tuning, neverending CHANGES of herbs, abx AND cleansers. It is very complex and hard. You get your whole day filled with intake of this and that.

I find that photon treatment and nosodes was the most effective and fast way to get rid of borrelia in ALL its forms. It informs the body to correct itself, so it will deal with cysts when they get to active form again, no need to take cyst busters, if you see what I mean.

It is much more intelligent in a way that we just take one medicine (borrelia information) and the body goes after it long term. I mean, you do one treatment, and then next treatment in a week or 10 days and in between, there's no pause for killing. Your body enters a 24h non stop killing mode.

So you just need constant intake of cleansers to clean herxes. I took some of the cleansers through photons too, meaning, they acted too 24h a day too. The rest of cleansers, I took by mouth, so yes, I still needed constant intake of cleansers.

But it had nothing to do with my busy schedule of 60 to 80 different ingested substances a day while doing herbs, supplements and homeopathy before. I lived for ingesting those stuff. Going out of the house was hell, having to take all these pills and liquids with me all around.

With photons, I had a normal life, if you see what I mean. I had my child with chronic lyme too, so there were two of us on total chaotic busy treatment until we started photon treatment.

Wow. Life got much easier, the schedule got down to about 10 % or even less of what we were taking before. And the best of all, it was working BETTER than the busy schedule of plants / homeopathy / microcurrent / supplements!!

My daughter got a relapse in Jan 2009. It took us to May 2009 to put her lyme in remission with photon treatment. It is so far, the fastest treatment ever!

In Jan 2010, she had a short relapse again. Her treatment lasted up to end of January or so. About 2 or 3 weeks? Very short. Since then again, no lyme treatment for her.

We started the AI therapy for her recently, because I would like that she spend this winter without relapse.

I'm tempted to use my PE1 and borrelia nosodes to prevent relapses for her, but I will TRY not to use it. I have to, so that I see if AI is really working or not.

She's in remission again since Feb, so about 8 months.

Photon treatment + nosodes is not natural abx. Nope.

Having said that, if I was a first sick with lyme and never tried abx before, I would try first abx before investing on other treatments.

If abx works short term, you're a lucky person and hopefuly, you don't need to get back again to this forum.

If it does't work for about 2 months, it probably means you could be one of the tough common cases of persistent lyme. Buhner himself believes that.

I would have no doubt to shift to photons and nosodes. It would be best to do it with someone though, not by yourself.

PHOTON TREATMENT - BIONIC 880

Very good point from Brussels. I forgot that as it's out of my reach. But, for anyone with enough money to travel to see a LLMD, lodging, etc. It really may be less expensive in the long run to seek out photon treatment - even if needing to travel to another country.

Photon treatment would be discussed at the Bionic 880 Threads.

Several who have done this are doing very well, indeed, even years after completion of it. The successes have been remarkable.

As far as I know this is only available in Germany, and many one or two other places in Europe. Does anyone have an update on the options with this?

Rife would also be a consideration, though not at all the same thing. Rife link is in my post above.

=-================

You can do a search here for BIONIC 880, or BIONIC and several good threads will come up.

Three threads are below, but I may have missed some.

Increasingly, this treatment seems to be one that warrants serious consideration.

I've had chronic LD for over 21 years. Been in treatment with abx for almost 3 years with a few short breaks along the way.

Abx. got me to where I was functional but I am not symptom free. Neuro. symptoms still exist and I still have MS symptoms. I am very functional, and I don't think I'd have gotten to this point without abx.

That said, I'm taking an abx break now (for the last 3 weeks or so) and recently started myself on Teasel Root tincture. I had planned on starting back on abx this week but I feel like my body is saying "no.. not right now".

I'm trying to save up for a rife machine, but with all 5 of my family members infected, it's taking more time to save money than I'd like. I do plan on having one within a year from now.

Since there is no cure for chronic Lyme, only remission, right now I'm just doing what I feel my body needs, and what I can afford.

Had to take my youngest two children off of abx as well, because we could no longer afford the meds and right now, can't afford the LLMD visits either even though we get a GREAT discount.

I just think abx are crucial for that first BIG step in getting better. After you have gotten your bacterial load way down, then start a natural route.

Before abx. I was sure I was dying.. and pretty quickly. Abx. got me over that hump and while I'm not completely well or in remission, I now feel I can use alternative means.. at least for awhile.

Everyone said it so well. I agree abx is where you start. Herbs to support abx and in the end when you are 99% well, to prevent relapse.

I switched to herbs too early twice and relapsed both times.

My experience is the same as Brussels. She explains it well.

The PE1 she speaks of is *only* about a thousand dollars, so much more attainable than the Bionic 880 and does not include a trip to Germany. Lymie_in_MD used the same machine to get well.

The only things I take now don't have to do with killing Lyme and co because that's not an issue for me anymore ..... I take the KPU protocol (minerals and vitamins), iron, thyroid, vitamins, and detox herbs as I think everyone needs constant detox, not just Lyme patients. Right the herbs/detox I'm taking are coq10, resveratrol, vitamin C.

I've also used photons with detox homeopathics, and that's the best detox of all.

SGK, Brussels,

is there a thread or are there some links so more can learn about the PE1 ?

From a basic search, here's what comes up:
-------------------------------

www.photonicenergetics.com

The Photonic Energetics Model PE-1 - lists at $1600.00
