I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Plenty of vague nuero symptoms, all tests clear etc. i have had plenty of ticks on me and many embedded. About 5 yrs ago, i have bad chest pains, trouble breathing, ended up in the ER. All was clear except a high heart rate. i was released and felt very tired for a few weeks. At this point no knownledge of tick bite. At some point later, (months-year) I ended up going to the Dr. b/c randomly i ended up only on my thighs, these round maybe half dollar sixed purply red rashes. They were almost tender and were flat. They all had a puss spot in the middle almost like a pimple. The doctor said it was folicular infections of the sweat glands. Just curious if lyme can suddenly do something like this. It was only on the thigh areas? maybe over anlayzing things, but lyme is certainly something i need to rule out. I see the doc tommorrow, and will order the WB lyme tests at umass medical. Not sure where there send it or how many bands they do. i will test igenx later. thanks keith

- Keith,
Welcome. Many here have vision problems and vertigo so reading solid blocks of text is like looking at a bunch of sharks swirling in fish tank.
Here's your text with space breaks so that more can read and reply - the * are to help my brain to sort out the key details. ---------------

- Q: "Can you get mutliple rashes late after infection?"
YES. Absolutely. They are called SATELLITE RASHES. --------------------
Keith,
* You did have tick bites. To be clear -as you had "many embedded" ticks - you had bites. They had to bite you to become attached/embedded.
I had the same sort of silver-dollar sized rashes as you. Very red, purplish. Also like puss in the center. The outer band was a bit darker.
My rashes were excruciatingly itchy and hot to the touch - so very painful.
I can't recall if the places the rashes appeared had been the site of former tick attachment as I had so many tick attachments spread out all during my life.
But a bulls eye rash can appear ANYWHERE on the body. It need not be at the site of a bite. And it can be different from a typical bulls eye. Yours do sound like lyme, though. Along with the history and your symptoms.
I've had lyme for many years - with no LLMD around. After many years on basic suppelements, I was able to do 2 months of doxycycline and did fine.
At a later time, I started back on doxy and I had about a dozen of these rashes. Yes, mine were bulls eye and clearly from the doxy. I stopped doxy and it took about a week for the rashes to fade.
I tired again, several times over a couple years and each time, in the exact places, between 8 - 13 rashes would appear within an hour. All around hips and on thighs.
They were far too painful to continue with the Rx.
But, whether as a result of Rx or not, what you describe are called
* SATELLITE RASHES - and yes, they are seen with lyme.
With the rashes, you should not have needed a lyme test. Did you get any photos of those?
Good luck. -

- Search at Google: "satellite rashes" borrelia
. . . Multiple, so-called ``satellite'' rashes may appear on different parts of the body. . . .
===================
After reading that one article (it spans several pages) . . . Be sure to look all around the wonderful CALDA site. -
