Has anyone got any cyst like bumps on their face while treating for lyme. My daughter had these bumps that were growing under her skin, very hard, not acne. They eventually broke thru her skin, nothing came out of them, just scabbed up fell off and left her face scarred. She is very very self conscious about this - and is getting very depressed. I was hoping someone else experienced something like this to see if it is lyme related and any suggestions you can share would be very helpful. Thank you.

This can be also from parasites. Yes, it is very common, but it can be from lyme and a lot of other infections.

I get these, but I get them around/near my ears. They are depressing because they are ugly and have left a couple of scars for me too.
I have asked my doctor about them and he hasn't said if they are connected to lyme, but I think they might be. I DO know that they can be from parasites like Karen said. Your daughter might want to look into treating for parasites. Everyone with lyme should treat for parasites, mold, viruses, etc. anyway and not just have lyme treatment. Look at the big picture because lyme is only part of the problem for all of us, unfortunately.

I agree with both posts. I get these when I take antiparasitics. Others have said the same.
It gets better over time and the scars go away.
If it is a serious problem, ask your doc if she can reduce or change her meds.

So glad the above posters said parasites because my immediate thought was just that. I just don't want to sound like a broken record about the parasite issue, so I didn't reply.
I have had these bumps on my scalp that scabed and they were parasites. Sounds like what she was being treated with worked if they scabed and fell off.
Why not take her to a plastic surgeon or dermatologist to take a look at the scars and see what they can do.
NO BOTOX though because it is botulism and would never suggest it for someone with Lyme. Treating for parasites is a very good idea.
