I am a BC resident seeking the BEST treatment possible (i.e. IV antibiotics) for my wife who is suffering from late stage symptoms of Lyme disease. She is not responding to oral antibiotics and no infectious disease doctor will give her attention here in Canada despite her serious symptoms.
I have reviewed the information posted on this site with no luck. We are open to IV therapy at a clinic or home therapy at places we have to stay near Palm Springs CA or Seattle WA. Need some direction as we are not familiar with the system. Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

Please go to the seeking a doctor forum.
Consider casting a wide net geographically - this is a terribly difficult disease to treat, so please find the most appropriate physician in the US for your wife. Do some research.
Choose a few doctors to explore, and call each office. Ask them whether they have seen the *most unusual* symptom your wife has, and whether they were able to resolve it.
I did this and this is what worked for me. I was bedbound with undiagnosed seizures 2 1/2 years ago. I am still undiagnosed seizures and Lyme in Canada. I would have died if it weren't for the US medical system.
You will get help.

John do you know who Dr M in BC is. He has a website and has dedicated his retirement to helping patients get treatment for Lyme disease. He is in contact with other doctors throughout Canada and the US.
If you want more info, his telephone number and email address let me know. Send me a PM.
He's great. Doesn't charge and works with my doctor in helping me to get better.

Yes, he's great, but he was forced into retirement by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He will work in consultation with a physician who is willing; good luck finding one of those in Canada, bc the ones I know are too afraid to treat due to concerns about losing their license.

You probably realize your treatment in the U.S. will be entirely out of pocket? And IV can be very expensive. If she is put on IV, there are less pricey sources, so ask again if this happens and we will point you in the right direction.
There is also IM bicillin, if she can stand shots.
