Hi,

Can someone please recommend a good LLMD in New York City ?

I live near Corneil Weill, and work near NYU. But I'd be more than willing to go up to Columbia or anywhere else in the city.

I had a blood test about a year ago from a horribly arrogant and dismissive general doctor. I swear he rolled his eyes when I asked to get tested for Lyme.

The test came back negative. But I now understand there is a possibility of false negatives, and that there is more than one test.

My primary symptom is neurological (cognitive impairment), so not sure if I should see a neurologist first ?

Thank very much. Just hoping and praying I can find out what my problem is and get well,

--Mark

Skip the neuro!! They are clueless. Yes, you can have a negative test and still have Lyme.

You need to get tested by a good lab, like Igenex Lab. www.igenex.com

Order kit for tests #188 and 189.

I will send you info for NY!

Thanks for the responses. I will read through them and make an appointment. Probably with a doctor here in the city, as I don't have a car.

I'll check out the medical discussion board now too, and let you all you how things go. Not sure if I have Lyme, as I don't have pain. But do have other Lyme symptoms, and in particular terrible brain fog which is making it almost impossible for me to do my job (software developer for an investment bank). Not sure how much longer I can hold it together at work, so hope I can get this figured out. Wall street is a competitive environment, and they are very quick to get rid of you if you are not excelling. I used to be one of the stars, but now cannot even hold my own, just getting by on my 10 year good reputation at this point.

Wow. That's a shame!! Many with Lyme never have pain. Some have more neurological problems .. like brain fog type stuff.

Others are blessed with mostly muscle and joint pain.
