Hello,
I peeled a tick on my left side 3 months ago. Three days later I left for a 3 months overseas trip with doxy in case of any symptoms. Two weeks later, I had a lot of them and took doxy for 15 days. My condition improved. Soon after that I found a small area on my left leg that had a little puffiness and numbness. It was slowly spreading up to my knee over next two months. I did a lot of tests and all of them were fine. Of course, doctors there don't know anything about Lyme. Last Monday the same puffiness and numbness appeared on my left hand. I got home this Friday night and called my doctor. By that time the left side of my face was swollen and numb. The scary part is that I feel it in my throat and on the left side of my tongue. My doctor said that it's not an emergency and we can wait until Monday afternoon when he'll start running more test. He is a great doctor but doesn't have any experience with Lyme. I was never tested for Lyme, since it was quite impossible where I was.

I need to find a knowledgeable and aggressive doctor in Greater Washington area (I live in Rockville) who would start treatment as soon as possible. My posting is quite chaotic but I feel scared and desperate.
