I was diagnosed with Lyme disease when I was 15, with a case that was so bad the nurses treating me at the time thought it could be fatal, especially as I was paralyzed for almost a full day. The treatment was from a local facility in Vermont that didn't seem to be sure what to do about it...
I am now 26 and have suffered from chronic exhaustion for years. After finally going to a doctor because I would wake up feeling immobile after 15 hours of sleep, and finally stopped blaming myself, I was diagnosed with narcolepsy. The pieces don't fully fit, and I recently started thinking this might still be Lyme related. I'd never heard of the symptoms that I am now finding similarity in on some online posts, and I really would like to look into proper Lyme testing and treatment.
This problem has been debilitating and deeply depressing, and I still struggle with it every day- Anyone who can offer any help, and anyone who knows a doctor who may really help me in the New York, NY area, it would be truly appreciated.
Thanks.
