I am seeking a doctor in Ohio (preferably cleveland).

I went to one doctor a few years ago at the onset of my joint paint/sever neck stiffness/fatigue and sleep disturbances but they told me that i had "tension headaches" at the time. At this time I also would have swelling in joints in my fingers and lived in a deer and tick infested area.

Fall 2008 I had what my doctor determined from my description was meningitis, although i did not go to a doctor at the time because i was away from my home physician and did not want to go alone and had been vaccinated against meningitis. following this severe neck pain i had severe nausea for at least 3 months. summer 2009 i developed a shingles-like rash which lasted two weeks with no cause. fall 2009 i experienced joint pain in my left knee which i had never had before and could barely walk. i went to a doctor who tested me for lupus, ms, everything, and was extremely hesitant to test for lyme and did not believe i could possibly have it. she claims to have done the test, i got a call that i had 'nothing wrong' apparently but she did go back because of the severity of my symptoms (she heard my joints cracking during the exam, saw the scar from my rash obviously there is something wrong here) and tested my vitamin d levels with my remaining blood and concluded that was all that was wrong with me. now after a two month regemine of vitamin d i am feeling worse again/the same as ever.

since 2006 at least if not longer i have had joint pain, swelling, neck pain and stiffness, back pain, joints cracking, severe overheating every time i go to sleep (when i am in a phase of 'fatigue'), i have always said that i go through phases of a couple months tired a couple months normal before i had any idea what lyme was, now with my joint paint increasing, confusion ("brain fog"), anxiety, unexplained rashes, and surely some things i am forgetting every time i see something about lyme i go 'thats it! thats me! i have all of that!' i have been saying i have these things like they were nothing for years, and now i see i have been word-for-word describing symptoms of lyme. i need to find a doctor who will help me and not say that i think i have lyme because i read about it... no i had these symptoms, and by chance found out about this disease which finally explains all of my problems.

i just want to feel good again, i want to have energy to do the many things i am interested in, i want to ride a bike without knee pain, i want to hike without my hip joints hurting, i was to write without pain, i want to sleep without nightmares or waking up throughout the night or overheating, i want to walk up a flight of stairs without gasping for breath. i just want someone to listen and help.

I am going to just keep updating with symptoms as they occur to me so that I can have a cohesive collection of them. I have a hard time recalling them all at once as I live with them day-to-day as normalcy:

-cannot stand for over 10 minutes, dizziness, shortness of breath and severe back pain occur
-"air hunger" a combination of that and standing i come close to passing out if i am in the shower for too long
-tingling sensations, strongly on scalp like pins and needles, like blood flow is cut off to scalp
-recently discovered vision problem with left eye that is a muscle problem never seen by my optometrists until about 2 years ago although i had had astigmatism and had gone to optometrists before this (not sure if related but i found unusual)
-did have tick which at the time was so small i just thought it was a buried part of an insect or organic black matter in my finger, i didn't really know at all what a tick was but i remember it because it was difficult to remove. i do not remember any rashes but at that age i was in the woods a lot and didn't really pay attention to my fingers unless they swelled from playing an instrument which started occurring.
-onset of neck pain/stiffness was very sudden/marked/obvious and exactly at this time

I am in Ohio also. Near Youngstown though I used to live in Mentor and my husband works in Mayfield so I know Cleveland well.

Where are you in Ohio? There are a few doctors in PA near the Ohio border.

I am in northwest ohio right now and have family just west of cleveland. i don't think PA would be an option for me. [Frown]

I just need a Dr in the cleveland area who accepts my insurance and will give me a diagnosis! Because this is not a 'vitamin D deficiency.' Just knowing would make my life so much easier/less stressful.

PS. I read your blog Amy-C! I have so many of your symptoms... i just don't understand how so many people can have the same things wrong with them and yet no one will give them help.
