Does anyone know of a Lyme literate doctor near Reading, PA that accepts insurance? I was diagnosed with Lyme in 1996 and 2002(had tick bite and bullsey rash, even though my western blot is not CDC positive but has several positive bands and a C6 Peptide test is highly positive for LYme). I have never returned to normal health. Suffer from debilitating headaches, muscle cramps, fatigue and now ovarian cysts. Symptoms seem better when I am on an antibiotic but then seem to reappear when I am off them awhile. Most doctors I see ridicule me for thinking my problems are related to Lyme. They offer antidepressents, which I have refused to take (am not depressed, just frustrated with feeling ill since contracting Lyme). They say the the placebo effect is why I feel better when on antibiotics, that I tell myself I am doing something to cure the Lyme when I take the antibiotic. I don't believe this is the case. I would rather take nothing and feel well, but it just seems whenever a sinus infection or something turns up and I am put on an antibiotic, my other symptoms improve or disappear. Everything I complain about is listed under symptoms of Chronic Lyme. I have been through numerous test and they can find nothing else that is a cause for me feeling ill. I don't know that I can afford a Lyme doctor that doesn't accept insurance as I am unable to work more that a few hours a week due to feeling ill. I saw a doctor at Columbia University, cost me $300+ dollars for an hour and he only sent a letter to my family doctor suggesting he put me back on an antibiotic for several months.

I'm sorry but I am no longer accepting any private messages due to my own battle with lyme.
