I am new to the Cincinnati area and in desperate need of a good Lyme literate doctor. My family which includes my husband and our three daughters (ages 2, 4 and 6) have recently moved here from Minnesota. It was in Minnesota that I was diagnosed with Lymes Disease as well as my oldest daughter (when she was 2 1/2 years old). I was pregnant with my youngest daughter when I was diagnosed. We were in an area mapped as highest risk for the disease and happened to live on a heavily wooded lot of 10 undeveloped acres. My oldest daughter was the first to get sick and she had four weeks of symptoms before we figured out what what causing all the text book symptoms until the rash showed up. Once I got sick I knew to seek treatment immediately. The extent of our treatment included only four weeks ammoxicillin. I worry about my daughters constantly but fortunately there has not been any apparent symptoms with them. I however have been very sick over the last several months. We moved away from Minnesota in hope of putting this horrible disease behind us. Up until recently I had myself convinced that we were all Lyme free. Since our move in July of last year I have been sick and diagnosed with Mono reinfection and now the last eight weeks oral thrush treated with anti fungal agents which have my symptoms escalating. I have had joint pain, chills, hearing disturbances, sleep disturbances, severe dizziness and feeling disconnected/brain fog and several oral infections that refuse to heal. I have a very good family practice doctor that suspected Lymes was the culprit and just recently saw a very good ENT without knowing my Lyme history took one look in my mouth and said I have some kind of autoimmune disorder and once I told him of the Lymes Disease he was sure that was again my problem and he gave me the name of a couple of Infectious Disease physicians. Until then I am on 100 mg doxy bid. I am writing in hope that you know where I can get adequate treatment and also a pediatric lymes literate doctor as well. I am scared that I will have a hard time finding a doctor that will treat this aggressive enough. I pray that someone can help me.

I know of doc in PA, not far from Ohio/PA border. But I don't believe there is one any closer to you.

Hopefully some of the Ohio Buckeyes will show up and give you some better info. I know you will not find anyone in Ky.

I'm sorry that you and your family are ill.

Pam

I am willing to drive if left with no other choice. Could I get your doctors name?
Many thanks for your reply.

I also live in the Cincinnati area and have tested positive for Lyme after 14 years of misdiagnoses. I have a holistic DO that recommends a whole list of alternative treatments that will cost between $15-20,000 with no specific guarantee. My health is so declined that I haven't worked much in 2 years so I can't afford that route. He did give me a script for 30 day doxycycline but told me to find a LLMD. I started taking the doxycycline this morning because I know from experience that it will make me feel better but I need a doc quick. Could someone please send me the name of the doc in PA? Or one in Cincy if you know of one? Thank you.

Hi, Summerzen, please start a new post so others can see right away what you are requesting.

If you tag onto to other persons post you become "buried" under it and NO ONE comes back here after they sent the other persons information. So, you will not be seen unless you start your own post. Just paste this in a new post in "Seeking a Dr". Thanks.
