I am broke, can't work, husband abandoned me, and live on private disability with no medicare for next 2 years.
Not poor enough for emergency medical help though, apparently you have to make less than 600 dollars a month for that!
So abroad is looking good for me. Anyone know of any south American doctors with any hope?
Panama has a Johns Hopkins hospital but that doesn't mean anything other than they do have medicine from this century.
I did start thinking though that maybe since they deal with a lot more vector born diseases of all kinds they may be mentally better equipped?

If you can't afford a dr, how are you going to afford traveling to South America, and back every couple of months for dr appts? Or are you planning to move there?

Thinking of moving, it is supposedly really cheap to live in south America and Panama looks like the best choice. Supposedly they have whole communities of retired expats doing this for same reason, maybe different illness or just wanting a decent life for the money.
