Can anyone offer advice on my next step?

im on the verge of age 26. when i was 17 i started having symptoms of backache. thru age 19 it got worse and by the time i was 21 my neck was stiff, back stiff, legs stiff, numbness and tingling, shooting pains, fatigue, sleep problems, fears and phobias got worse, moody getting worse, and since age 23 i have been eating healthy, exercising, and still not showing much improvement in levels of flexibility and stiffness and soreness.

i have been to all kinds of doctors, alternative therapies, massages, etc, thru thousands of dollars, and just a few months ago the bacteria (bb) that causes lyme showed up in my system for the first time. i disregarded it thinking it was just a fluke. don't laugh, but i went to a "visionary" and the first thing she suggested was lyme disease and secondary a bit of fibromyalgia. i have no health insurance. i'm emotionally and financially exhausted and my family (even tho they support me financially) is not so much involved on the emotional front. i'm losing interest in keeping friends and considering breaking up with bf and moving away.

i've done my research on lyme. i never had initial symptoms that i remember, i just started having pain 9 years ago and have been trying to figure out why ever since. i dont know whether to hope i do have lyme so i have a diagnosis finally or what i should do.

if anyone can offer any expertise that might be of help, please...
i would be appreciative.

j

J,

I'm so sorry to hear about this. First thing I would do would be to find a Lyme Literate Doctor, get full bloodwork done, and then you will be put on a plan, which will change overtime. There's many avenues to getting healthy. No one size fits all with lyme, especially if you have co-infections, but you will find something that will make you better. Don't give up. I urge you to find a reputable doctor, who can direct you to all of your options.

Hi, J, you stated every symptom of lyme disease, I really believe you have had it for many years.

I have the list of LLMDs and sadly, I don't have any names in South Dakota.

Do you have family/friends in some other States that I could check to see if I have lyme Drs there? Let me know and we could go from there.

To send a private message to someone just look to the right of their name and you will see the icon of the envelope--just click on it and you can send them a pm.

You could try your on-line support group, I'll give you the link, you can join and then you are able to send them private messages and ask for a lyme Dr. in your State, try it, you could find a Dr. that way. Here is the link:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/southdakotalymedisease/

If you can find a Dr. please see him/her so you can be properly tested.

Best of luck J. [hi]

I'm sorry but I am no longer accepting any private messages due to my own battle with lyme.

Hello,
Hang in there. You must see a LLMD. I live on the east coast and would be willing to assist you in any manner. Look for a Lyme support group near you and send me a PM if I can help
