Tested positive for lyme through an infectious disease doctor and taking doxycycline for 21 days on day 21 and not feeling any better, Actually started feeling better last week and now again back to terrible. The doctor feels I have chronic lyme. She put me on doxycycline for another week. My blood tests were sent to California to check for coinfections and they all came back negative. The doctor said once I stopped the antibiotics she wants to just treat my symptoms. Just worried that isn't enough. Also, wondering if anyone has ever heard of an antidepressant covering up lyme disease. All of my symptoms started when I stopped taking paxil which I took to treat my IBS and anxiety (at least that is what the dr. said I had) which really makes me wonder because I started having all these problems with my body when I stopped taking paxil. I thought it was just withdrawl and now looking back I think it might have been the lyme disease and I have had it for a long time. Many ways that I feel right now feel just like the withdrawl I thought I was going through. And does anyone know that if I do have chronic lyme if I can still have a baby? I stopped the paxil so I could get pregnant and had a miscarriage which also could have been from the lyme. This all happened last year and I also had a surgery because the doctors thought i had endometreosis and nope not a sign of it. finally after putting my symptoms into the computer i kept coming up with lyme symptoms and insisted on the lyme test with my dr.(who was reluctant to give it to me) or I still wouldn't have known I have it. I think it has gone on so long that it may be in my central nervous system and wondered if anyone knew about that? Thank You for any information!
