My four year old son got into a bed of seed ticks a few days ago. About an hour later, I noticed the ticks on him as he was acting so uncomfortable. By that time most had attached. There were anywhere from 100-150 of these ticks on him.
I took him to our dr. who mentioned that since seed ticks are first feeders having hatched from the eggs, that they do not carry diseases. However, today i have noticed that he had gotten circles around 2 of the tick bites. Could this be lyme disease?
So, we are looking for a LLMD in Ga, North Caroline or any surrounding states to get a second opinion on whether our son could have contracted the lyme bacteria.
Thanks in advance for any info.
Sincerely, Kim

Well, that generally is said to be the case, that seed ticks are newly hatched and would not carry lyme. But they could carry other diseases. And I never rule out exceptions to the rule.
Will pm you if I can find the name of a doc someone told me about, not far from you. Not sure if this doc takes kids.
