Hello, I am a 23 year old female (5'9" 140lbs). I need to find a doctor to help confirm my diagnosis of Lyme and consult on my treatment.
I have been suffering health issues such as migraines, chronic infections, chronic fatigue, and kidney issues since I was very young (about 7 yrs).
In the last 3 years, I have had gout, arthritis symptoms, thyroid autoimmune, chronic nausea/vomiting, intestinal issues, lead/mercury toxicity (not sure if related), adrenal fatigue, severe headaches, and body pain.
Lately, I have also had some debilitating psychological issues (trouble with focus, memory, balance, etc).
I found two naturopathic doctors that are amazing and have helped me to try and find out what is going on.
Lyme disease causing bacteria were found through a type of biofeedback that my doctor performs.
For infections in my childhood and as recent as 2 years ago, I have taken many antibiotics and have had bad reactions to them.
I am seeking a knowledgeable doctor that is open to all treatment options, allopathic and natural.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your help!

- There are no LLMDs in Oregon. It's not "allowed" by the Oregon Medical Board. There are a few LL ND (naturopathic doctors) but, since you live in Washington state, you'd do better looking for a LLMD there or a LL ND.
Washington has both ILADS-educated LLMDs and ILADS-educated LL NDs. Your state support groups should be able to help.

WOW thats alot to deal with. Im not sure i understand what test revealed lyme bacteria however if thats a suspect..(and a bad reaction to antibiotics gives a clue) that lyme can be the underlyi8ng cause..(you did mean bad reaction and not allergic i assume) this points to lyme, and or coinfections... No offense to naturopath drs. they have their place but i think you need a lyme literate dr. who will diagnose you clinically although will test you as well...but give you real medicine whch is what you need particularily if you've been suffering all these years with lyme. I'm pming you drs. near you. please find an ally in one of them to help you. michele

- MidnightMoon,
Good point about ILADS-educated, experienced LL doctors and aggressive treatment.
It's not widely known, but most LL NDs do treat lyme with antibiotics, although not all states license NDs to prescribe pharmaceuticals.
Some LL NDs are ILADS-trained and ILADS members.
With no LLMD in my state, an ILADS-trained LL ND whom I saw wanted me to do IV antibiotics for months as she thought that was the best option, given the neuro decline. I just could not afford it.
Some LL NDs are equal in proficiency with LLMDs. Some are not.
Each doctor just needs to be researched regarding their training, their protocol range and experience.
Often, the best combination is to have both a LLMD and a LL ND, of course, both being ILADS-educated. Even if they have their own methods, they'd have that ILADS- background and knowledge of the science of lyme and TBD. -
