I currently have an appointment at both places since the wait time was only a few dys apart. I was looking to see if anyone had any reccomendations as far as one being better than another.. I also recently had a HORRIBLE experience this week at a dr. In west Chester PA an I'm trying to avoid an experience like this again! Thanks friends!

OH no. I'm sorry you went to that dr. He is not on my list for good reason.

I'll send you some info.

You can't go wrong with dr. J.

I'm sorry but I am no longer accepting any private messages due to my own battle with lyme.

Hi,
I saw Dr. J for a year and a half in SC. He was
nice, outrageously expensive and didn't really help me. I was on IV for 7 months then intensive orals and supplements. I was so sick that even with his
schedule which allowed for time off I never felt
even decent until I stopped his protocol. Now,
everyone is different but if you hear other
negatives you might look elsewhere. And if you
hear of someone else could you please let me know.
I live in NC but will travel north (must travel north) to find a good Lyme Specialist.
Thanks,
C

Sure! Thanks for your help, I was on the cancellation list at both practices and called the haverford wellness center in philly yesterday during an episode to see if they could suggest anything to help in the meantime, and she called me right back and put me in a spot where someone had to reschedule. I pray as all of us suffering do that this will be the place that will work for me.. I'll keep you posted I've heard good things, and to me I'll pay whatever to get good legitimate care.

Suggest you search this site for all that has been said about Haverford wellness center in Philly.

Just go to "Search" function at top of page (under Post Reply) and type in "haverford" and select "Medical Questions" forum, and all the previous posts will come up.

Here is one post about that center:

Also, Dr. J in D.C. is very well known and is generally considered one of the top doctors for lyme disease.

He was in the movie "Under Our Skin." He is also one of the most expensive. His treatment is very expensive also compared to others.

If you want an idea of his unique protocol, send me a private message and I will send it to you.

Just click on the envelope across from my name and send me a message.

You have other options besides these two. I recommend going to a doctor who follows the Burrascano lyme treatment guidelines. If you want names of such doctors, let me know.

The most important document you can read is the Burrascano guidelines, found here:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

They will give you an education on this disease.

Burrascano is the lyme disease guru of the world. His guidelines are followed by doctors in other countries and by many docs in the U.S.

He wrote the guidelines to teach doctors how to treat lyme disease, so they are not an easy read. But, you really need an education on the disease that you have.
