I am searching for a LLMD in Ohio and, at this point, very willing to travel up to 10 hours to find the right physician.
I had the bulls-eye rash as a child but my family doctor indicated that if it did not itch or cause pain, we should not be worried about it. Fast-forward a couple months later, I literally could not move one morning upon awakening. My mom took me, again, to the doctor and he indicated he thought I had JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis). A rheumatologist confirmed this. Since that time, I have had two "supposed" strokes and a host of other symptoms that line up with Lyme.
My family doctor is kind and compassionate but readily admits the staff knows little about the disease though they did give me an initial Lyme titre test which was negative.
I am frustrated by the number of "ologists" I have seen over the the years and would like to chat with a doctor who is not only supportive but well-versed in the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme. Despite the frustration, I am encouraged by sites like this. Thanks much for any and all help!
