I am on the waiting list to take both of my sick children (ages 14 and 16) to see Dr J in Conn. I live in Florida, and before I spend all the money for air travel, hotel rooms etc, not to mention the $$ for two children to see him- I was wondering if anyone has actually been there?

I am just at a horrible point not knowing where else to turn to, and he seems to be a prominent pediatric LLMD. I just got his name from the Under our Skin film, but know nothing else about him, other than legal issues?

Thanks for any input... [Smile]

Dr. J is the best pediatric lyme doc in the country.

I believe I have the 2nd best. [Smile]

I sent you a PM. Look for the flashing envelope.

May health be with you!

Toxic mold was suppressing our immune systems, causing extreme pain, brain fog and magnifying symptoms. Four days after moving out, the healing began.

Hi jjbc:

Our 11 year old daughter started to see Dr. J last May. This was after 8 months of 8 MD's, 3 Children's Hospitals etc. of mis diagnosis.

We love Dr. J. and feel he has the experience to help us through this. I have great respect for Dr. J.

You need to understand the Lyme controversy and he is in the middle of it here in CT. This adds pressure to him and his staff. Add in he is 81+ (so he is a little slower and can't hear as well) but still shart as a tack.

Be prepared this is not a quick healing / recovery.

There might be some alternate less expensive housing. Why not ask about Ronald McDonald house in that area, or something similar? Ask parents of patients, ask his office.

RM House is 3 blocks form Dr. J's office. They saved us so much money over the 5 years we saw Dr. J. It is a home away from home.

jjbc,
Our hearts go out to you!

Dr J of CT refers overflow pediatric patients to Dr L of Maryland. The only other physician Dr L can recommend for children with Lyme disease is your Dr J. In the U.S., they are the best Lyme doctors treating children, and they know how to help children heal!

Both of these ILADS-active LLMDs are very kind and have helped hundreds of patients into long-term remission. A friend just told me of a child who'd been out of school for several years due to CLD, but under Dr L's care, he's back in school now. Yay!

You may wish to see if Dr L has appts open sooner and if airfare to BWI is more affordable. With either Dr J or Dr L, your children can be healed.
