Hi, My name is Cathy 54 years old.. I've been diagnosed with Epstein Barr in May '10 and have been experiencing these syptoms at the same time. Tingling hands and feet up into left cheek and left eye. Sore joints, pressure behind eyes, memory not so good [Frown] I did get bit on the ankle in the springtime, and I was riding my bike in the wooded park a lot. If anyone has any info, I sure would appreciate it! I did have a negative Lyme disease test in July, but very high ANA. ???? I hear if you get your test through Quest, there are quite a lot of negative results?????

Thank you, Hope you all are having a good day!
Cathy

Hi Cathy:

Our daughter has tested negative for Lyme under CDC standards 5 times (2 elisa, 3 western blot). The last 2 WB have been from Igenex and while still negative she has positive lyme specific bands (with one being a LB specific band excluded from the CDC testing criteria).

LLMD's indicate the Elisa is a terrible screening test due to its over 35% false negative rate and the WB with the controversy labs like quest don't even provide the band readings unless requested up front.

I hope someone can post LLMD's in FL for you.

Negative tests do not mean you don't have lyme (or Babesia or Bartolona).

Dr. B's Advanced Topic in Lyme and TG's Complexities of Lyme Disease are good reads on the subject.

Dear Cathy,
My suggestion is to contact Dr. K in FL as he is the best qualified LLMD in the southeast. (www.drkalidas.com).

He will probably run several tests including at CD57+ NK test by LabCorp. This test measures the Lyme in your white blood cells and gives the doctor an indication of where you are with this disease. This test seems to be more accurate and less controversial than the WB.

Good luck! Patrice

Quest is terrible at finding Lyme.

You need a list from someone here... never heard of a Dr K in FL.

But Patrice.. Neither of those tests is a LYME TEST.

Thank you! I pushed for more blood work from Igenx.
Can anyone recommend specific tests from that lab. My doc is not familiar with Lyme disease and a doc in Missouri told me to check Lyme western blot IgM &
IgG and that should show any antibodies.

Thanks,
Cathy
