I have been sick 3 years, was finally diagnosed and on what I thought was a strong protocol for 5 months and improved 80% when I became pregnant (unplanned) My doctor treated me (but not aggressively) throughout and told me to nurse while on the same treatment as when I was pregnant, which I did.
He had been very positive and told me not to worry he would treat until I had no symptoms for 2 months. I decided to stop nursing as I was reading about the possibility of transmission during treatment and symptoms were becoming worse.
I was put on doxy again to start and I was scheduled for an appt today after 6 weeks of the DOxy thinking that another med would be added like before.
When I sat down in the office I knew something was off. He said he thought my infection was now gone and he could no longer treat me. My husband I were stunned. Basically he said the opposite that he has said in the past and implied i have post Lyme syndrome and that is what my symptoms are.
So that's it no more treatment, didn't even give me a prescription to hold me over until I can find someone else.
I am not from the United States and there is no one else in this country I can go to.
My family has offered to help me travel to the States for help.
Can you please send me references of "top" LLMD's? I don't really have a preference of state because no matter what I will have to travel. I need someone good, please help!
I know everyone is so sick here, I am so worried about my babies and I am absolutely devastated.
Thank you for any help in advance

Hope, I have been in your position....not nice at all. As you probably know by now, there is no such thing as 'post lyme syndrome'. Your doctor is speaking like IDSA doctors.
If you're really sick and not making progress, would suggest Dr. H in NY.. You're relatively close as it is.
will PM you some more names.

This sounds very much like your current doctor is feeling the heat from the medical authorities. They may be trying to stop him from treating lyme.
Do you know any other patients that see him? You might want to ask if this is happening to others too. Very fishy.

Thanks everyone for all the recommendations!
Lou-Yes I believe this is the case. I have since heard that the same is happening to other patients of his. Really sad because he is a great doctor, I think that's why we were so shocked.
I was in a very bad place last week, but now that we are getting a plan in place I am ready to keep fighting.....what other choice is there?
Thanks again.
