I am searching for an LLMD in NYC who accepts Oxford insurance. I have been having a very difficult time finding one.

I am an adult (30) who was diagnosed with Disseminated Lyme Disease last Aug. (2010), and was put on 4 weeks of Doxycycline. However, prior to starting that antibiotic, I had been on Prednisone and some other antibiotic due to an insane bite wound behind my knee (3 inches by 1 inch, blistered and swollen, purple and red) that no one could figure out (3 doctors). I had a fever, chills, and body aches. By the time I was diagnosed with Lyme, I had rashes spreading all over my body. I could have had it anywhere up to three months prior to getting diagnosed based on my travels and outdoor activities. The doctor was surprised by the blood results for my liver, which were not normal, and so she tested me for Lyme and another disease, both of which she said could be treated by the Doxy. I thought I was 'fixed,' and never thought anything more about Lyme, as I didn't think it was a serious thing. However, I have been having some strange and random pains: one week of extreme jaw joint pain, a different week of extreme neck pain/stiffness, a different week of extreme lower back pain, random rapid heart-rate. I have also had 4 ear infections in the past 5 months, which seems very excessive (I usually have 1-2 per year).

The more I read about Lyme, the more I realize it's actually a very serious thing. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thanks!!

A large rash, fever, chills, body aches .. and three doctors can't figure it out? We hear it all too often. [shake]

You need to get aggressive with treatment right away.
