I am a healthy, active person who enjoys the outdoors, wood chopping (heat my house with wood), biking, with 2 teenage daughters. I had a tick in late March. Went to PCP and they concluded it was not the "right kind" of tick for Lyme's disease, even though I had a small red ring around where the tick was attached that lasted for a couple weeks after the tick was removed. A month later, I had an episode of severe muscle and joint pain, neck pain, spine pain, headache, sore throat. I was on vacation, so went to the ER. Lyme test came back negative but they treated me anyway, 28 days doxycycline. I did not quite finish the prescritpion because the antibiotics really upset my stomach. Now, a month since the last attack I have the same symptoms again. My PCP says it could not still be Lyme's, there is no such thing as chronic lyme disease. HELP, I need a Dr. that understands Lyme Disease and can help me. I am in a lot of pain. I live in Eastern PA/Philadelphia area.

The fibromyalgia I've had for 32 years was an undiagnosed Lyme symptom.

When faced with pain you have two choices....either quit and accept the circumstances, OR make the decision to fight with all the resources you have at your disposal.

Hello. I would love to find out doc in the Philly area. I have been through a few Rheumologists who do not feel that my symptoms are related to the Lyme's that I was diagnosed with back in the 90's. I really want to go to a doctor that know Lymes! Thanks!

PM sent to evilcruella with PA names.

Suggested to evilcruella that they create a new post so they can get feedback/suggestions from other PA members.
