Hello all! I have been diagnosed with a past infection for lyme disease very recently with 4 bands of the 9 known Borrelia genus specific bacteria and more than 10 positive bands in the Western Blot. The neurologist who, thankfully, tested me twice for lyme has recommended an infectious disease specialist. It is believed that lyme & the subsequent antibodies have been present in my system for at least 20 years. I am looking for a well versed physician who takes coinfection seriously as well as secondary (now primary) neurologic conditions. Any help will be appreciated for this newby!...Thanks...G

Skip the infectious disease doctor!! Print this out and read it several times. Better yet, please post your positive bands over in Medical Questions. We can help you with interpretation.
