Hello,
I was looking for a doctor in the Wall, NJ area 07719 ?

I had the tick, rash, symptoms and my doctor did prescribe a 7 day antibiotic treatment of Doxycycline Hyclate 100 MG 2 times per day. This was before any testing was done. He told me my tests came back negative. I still have some neck pain but the rest of my symtoms are gone. It has only been 3 weeks since I found the tick and 1 week on the meds. I think I should seek a Doctor more familiar with Lyme for a second opinion.

Thanks for the help.

At the early stage of Lyme disease, you will not always test positive for it. I think that you may need more than one week of Doxy. I was prescribed Amoxicillin and the dosage is different for this drug. However, my dosage was at least a dosage within the recommended range which was one month. I believe the recommended range for Doxy is longer than a week no matter whose guidelines you read.
Others on this site will surely give some more details to you on this matter. Good luck.
