Will try to shorten a LONG story here. Have had numerous issues from latent chronic lyme for over 30 years. The worst one has been 10 years of vision impairments finally diagnosed in 1999 as "optic nueritis" by an aggresive specialist, Dr. T in Boston. After much testing, Visual Evoked responses, brains scans, blood testing at MA Eye revealed a titer count of 80 and we did Biaxon anti-biotics 500 mg x2 daily. Within only a 2 DAYS there was huge improvment in my visual sharpness and cognitive abilities!! I was told this treatment would have to continued periodically for the rest of my life. Dr. T has moved on to his own center in NE and I have not received any responses to my requests for a Lyme specialist in the state of North Carolina - where I now reside. I know the sypmtoms experienced in 1999 are returning again and really need to find someone here that would continue with the recommended anti-biotic treatment. Please help if you can - thank you so much for having this website available to all.
