Hi - I'm new here and am very glad to find this great forum. I got sick about 5 weeks ago and found out a couple days ago that it's Lyme Disease. I never had the rash or saw a tick, so I'm not sure how long I've had it, but I am experiencing a wide range of symptoms and I feel very sick (so maybe the early disseminated stage?). I'm also a little freaked out because I'd been on Prednisone for a while since I initially thought it was a sinus infection. So far I've just been to urgent care so I REALLY need to find an LLMD who can see me fairly quickly to test for co-infections and evaluate my meds (right now I'm just on 100 mg doxy 2x/day for three weeks). I'm in Northern Virginia but can go to DC or Maryland too. So far the docs we have called are either not accepting new patients at all or can't get me in for months - very frustrating. Or they charge hundreds of dollars to see a physician's assistant and not the doctor - is that worth it? Thanks in advance for your help!

ps-i did pm you but for others reading this usually the PA's in llmds offices are great and very competent-many prefer them cuz they have more time than doc...if they are there they know the docs protocols-and what many of you need is quick abx to prevent you from going chronic
