Hello, I am seeking a Doctor who knows how to treat Lyme Disease and some other issues that I have. My GP gave me a referral to an Infectious Disease Doctor. When I called to make an appointment I was told to contact Lane County Public Health!! And that they did not have the facility or tools needed to treat Lyme. What a bunch of BS. When I contacted Lane County Public Health they were completely baffled. As they only treat for STD's and give immunizations. I am hoping to find a Doctor in Eugene. Portland is my next choice. Thank you for being here. Jeanicasso

- * The Infectious Disease doctor likely just blew you off. The official stance by ID doctors in Oregon is that lyme does not exist. Oregon has a wicked medical environment for anyone with any kind of tick-borne disease.
The ID doctor may have told you to call county health as ID doctors consider anyone who asks about lyme to be suffering from mental illness.
* No LLMDs in Oregon; however, we have some LL NDs.
* Sent contact in Portland for an ILADS-educated LL ND (naturopathic physician).
* PM sent with the "Kaiser Papers" links, containg relevant background about lyme being "non-existent" &/or "illegal" in Oregon. Not just for Kaiser patients, but for everyone to better understand the politics involved.
* I emailed someone in Corvallis (near you) who has been figuring this out for a while now. I gave her this thread and hope she will contact you.
