Is this not posted right? I found a tick on me on 11/11/11, had it tested, got positive results today (11/17). Dr. gave me 2 doxycycline and he's waiting to see if i get the disease, i don't want to wait. I watched under our skin today and man i'm scared to death. i have 4 children. i survived breast cancer, which wasn't easy because one doctor was dumber than the next, I can't let a tick kill me now. Please HELP!!! I hope this posts. not sure how to do that

Here is a portion of the lab report on the tick, he was embedded in my arm....how worried should I be? I'm going to ask my doctor and dermatologist tomorrow for 30 days of doxy...but since I know nothing about these critters, I thought maybe someone would. Just tonight there was a giant deer in the middle of my street. There are so many in my town and its not a small town. I live between a railroad and I-95....

It's amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and I've found it easiest to show a couple of u tube video's on the controversy.

There are four types of antibiotics in general use for Bb treatment. The TETRACYCLINES, including
doxycycline and minocycline, are bacteriostatic unless given in high doses. If high blood levels are not attained,
treatment failures in early and late disease are common. However, these high doses can be difficult to tolerate.
For example, doxycycline can be very effective but only if adequate blood levels are achieved either by high
oral doses (300 to 600 mg daily) or by parenteral administration. Kill kinetics indicate that a large spike in blood
and tissue levels is more effective than sustained levels, which is why with doxycycline, oral doses of 200 mg
bid is more effective than 100 mg qid.
