Hello I am new to Lyme net and to bulletin boards, but not new to Lyme disease. I have had Lyme for many, many years. I am an adult. Although there is lyme in Colorado, I caught it from a mosquito bite in Florida
My Lyme was not identified for six years and by then it had spread to my CNS. I have been treated successfully for a very long time. I felt so fortunate to have my doctor and to be getting better.
I am not cured yet, but I had begun to dream it might happen to me.
Now, my doctor has been told by his employer, a large healthcare provider, that he can no longer treat lyme disease or prescribe medicine for lyme. I feel stunned that this is happening.
So,once again, I am in need of a Lyme literate doctor. I had hoped that I never would have to to go through the maddening process again. At least now I know what is wrong with me and there is the internet.
Also now I can read and talk and walk when I want to. Most of the time I can think too, although the stress of this new development has thrown me.
I used to be a scientist. Lyme destroyed all that but I am well enough to have a life(and to garden!) I am terrified that all the hard fought progress I have made against Lyme will be lost if I can't find a new doctor.
