Hi all. I'm a 27 year old female who has recently been diagnosed with chronic lyme. Well, technically, I had a Western Blot that came back with 2 positive bands. The physician's assistant told me that I had lyme and started me on 2 weeks of doxycycline, but then the doctor called me back to say that she didn't think I "really had lyme."

After 4 years of unexplained symptoms and pain that seems to be getting worse, I'm pretty sure that it's lyme. I'm going to see an infectious disease specialist at Duke in about three weeks, but I want to make sure that I have the name of a LLMD in the state in case he, like the doctor before, tells me that a Western Blot positive on 2 bands doesn't count.

I think having an LLMD is a very good idea. The infectious disease doc I saw didn't believe in lyme and I have heard similar stories from many others.

Can you please send me a PM with a list of NC LLMDs as well? I was diagnosed with a positive Western Blot with chronic Lyme in Oct after being treated for rheumatoid arthritis and chronic fatigue syndrome for quite some time. I have been seeing Dr. J in DC which has been wonderful but I need someone closer when I cannot get up north. Help please?
