I have a 15 year old son who has been experiencing dizziness and very bad headaches 24/7 for a month now. He saw neurologist in Boston and had an MRI - which showed everything was fine. My son is in the woods constantly and works in the summer on a farm. I asked his pediatrician to test him for Lyme which came back negative. The pediatrician thinks it's his imagination. He is tired often, has had some heart palpitations, his stomach has been bothering him, and has had various aches and pains. Pediatrician gave him 875 mg of Amoxicillin for 14 days and told me that this is the treatment for Lyme Disease in case the test was wrong. My son has been so sick that he hasn't been able to go to school for one month. He misses his normal life terribly. I would be so grateful if someone could give me the name of a LLMD either in Southern NH or Massachusetts. I don't know where else to turn, and I can't sit by day after day watching my son suffer. Thank you so much.

I have a 15 y/0 daughter with same symptoms and she has been out of school since Christmas vacation. She was diagnosed with POTS by a cardiologist at Children's hospital(Dr. Laura Bevilacqua) she is an electrophysiologist. I am sending my daughter to a naturopathic doctor in Portsmouth NH next month for Lyme testing...I think her POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) may have been caused by lyme that was misdiagnosed as juvenile arthritis. An infection usually triggers POTS and usually happens around age 15. A great book on POTS is by Jodi Epstein Rhum - POTS Together We Stand Riding the Waves of Dysautonomia. I hope this helps in the search for an answer for your son. Good luck!
