My two year old received a bicillin shot for strep and seems to be having some herxing. We have wanted to test her for Lyme for awhile - I am sure I had Lyme while pregnant. I am so worried...
Is there a really good pediatric Lyme doctor that might do an initial consult via telephone? We are willing to travel eventually...
We live in Texas but since we don't have an LLMD here, we are not sure how to go about getting her testing through Igenex...

Hi Herb15:
The problem with a phone consult can be seen with what happened with Dr. J in CT. His consulting and prescribing a blood test over the phone to an out of state parent ended up being the "charge" the state medical board used in putting him on probation.
It will be very difficult to obtain a phone consult but the two to try would be Dr. J and Dr. C. but I think all you will end up with is a discussion with their staff.

He is a saint and I show this to help illustrate how MD's have been prosecuted so normal MD's shy away from doing anything but following the flawed IDSA guidelines.
Also here is a post by another LLMD where he mentions a patient taking supplements and herbs (which many LLMD's don't address but many have found to be helpful).
