Hi,
I have a 7-year-old who tested positive in July 2011. We went through a 30-day course of antibiotics.

Exact same symptoms have come back in the past month. Pediatric docs want to send us to rheumatologist, but they can't seem to return my calls in a timely manner. I think they're tired of me asking why they don't think this is a recurrence (or never completely resolved) of her Lyme.

I just called Dr. C in PA, her waiting list is 10 months!!! My little girl is asking to go to the doctor, I need someone who is willing to listen and help.

Thanks for your info in advance.

Sorry to hear your little girl is sick. But chances are that the rheumatologist is as clueless as your ped.

Sent a PA list of LLMDs by private message.

Can you travel? I have a New Jersey list too - I think there is a ped LLMD in So. Jersey - I'll check for you. Of course the reknown Dr. J, who is one of the original pediatric LLMD, works in New Haven, CT.

Let me know if the PA list will help you.

I sent you a private message with the pediatric list.

Thanks folks!
We previously lived in CT, and have family there. Makes a trip to CT very easy for us.

It's amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and I've found it easiest to show a couple of u tube video's on the controversy.

If you watch this video you can see some of the miss diagnosis.

This is our Lyme doctor. It took us 8+ months, 9 MD's, 2 Children's Hospital's before we started to learn about the controversy and find him.

He is a saint and I show this to help illustrate how MD's have been prosecuted so normal MD's shy away from doing anything but following the flawed IDSA guidelines.

Thanks everyone!

I have an appt for a 2nd opinion with my local family practice tomorrow.
I have an appt on 5/24 with a nearby ILADS member on 5/24.
I am on a 10-month waiting list for Dr. C
and I have a call into Dr. J

I will continue to educate myself. Your help is immensely appreciated!
Still waiting for Peds office to call me back with rheumatologist appointment ... since Monday ... pffft

We lived in CT for 12 years and do have family there, so traveling will not impede our journey.

Hi jirogramla:

Her in CT the top LLMD per Hartford Magazine is a rheumatologist. While I speak for myself a rheumatologist is the worst one to see for Lyme.

They don't believe in persistent infection any symptoms after they treat for lyme are autoimmune responses due to the lyme or psychosomatic.

This particular expert strictly follows IDSA. IMO it would be a waste of time seeing one.

Thanks, Tim. I've pretty much given up on the pediatrician and their path. They can't even hear me saying the symptoms are EXACTLY the same! I don't have the time or patience to deal with that. hahaha

I will be looking through the links you sent. Thank you, I do appreciate not having to root through internet searches to find what I'm interested in.
