i was first infected with Lyme 25 years ago but was not treated properly and i think my symptoms now may be caused by that tick bite all those years ago.(had classic bullseye rash and flu like symptoms at the time but treated with tetracycline for only 10 days.i am having MS type symptoms now.started about a year ago with muscle weakness, electrical shocks, pins and needles, balance issues and some pain both knees and shoulders.pins and needles now spread to both feet and hands and constant fatigue. neurologist has ordered so many tests and wants me to have spinal tap.will lyme show up in spinal tap? Brain MRI shows some scarring.I would like to get advise from a lyme specialist.getting tired of all these tests and no diagnosis

So sorry you are going through this. If you had been treated properly in the first place, you wouldn't be going through this nightmare now!

You are correct in wanting to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). They understand this horrible disease and its complex treatment.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any in NJ.

Click on "Support Groups" in the upper left-hand corner of the Lymenet page, then "NJ". Contact information will come up. Maybe they can help you.

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

you are welcome! i use the first one but the one you will see will still give you sggressive antibiotic treatment he just doesn't spend as much time as the 1st one . I'm sorry that noone sent you names sooner..it used to be much better here for getting names. Lymenet should fix it so that its not so easy to accidently post back onto the board when replying to a private message..i always fill out the form then remember i have to click on the top tab for responding privatly..its annoying and time consuming., micky
