Hi all,

Looking for a Lyme literate neurologist anywhere in the PA, NJ, DE area... I'm willing to travel to NY or MD, too.

Any suggestions?

New york Presbyterian in Manhattan has a couple. I personally haven't met with them. I do have a family friend who is a wonderful dr. who heads the neurology dept. at one of the best teaching hospitols in the country..it is in Manhattan. The deal is though that his specialty is MS. however over the years he has come to understand lyme as a chronic problem and is one of the kindest , humble people i've ever been honored to know and he is listed as one of the top 100 drs. in the country. If knowing that ms, not lyme is his specialty but that he will quietly give you the right tests and treatment plans as well as reccomend lyme literate drs. to you if you would like his name you may pm me, or for the ones at NYPresbyterian. There is also one in the city dr. y although my personal experience with hum was not good, some say different.

**edited name of LLMD per Lymenet rules**

Which ever dr. you choose, i highly reccomend that any testing..brain spects , or mris be done at NY Presbyterian..they have a lyme research center there and like labratory testing bloodwork is different from lab to lab there are certain labs like stonybrook & medi labs that are much more sensitive towards lyme, coming up with positive wb's where other labs don't.. different hospitols read these tests differently and you want to be at a lyme friendly place where they are not so readily to dismiss spots or foci as doubtful clinical significance., when in reality they may be lyme related.

mick - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
