If I had Lyme would I have a positive ANA test? My rheumy says I have UCTD and I think I have Lyme. Also would Lyme be temporary relieved by Methotrexate, Plaquenil and Prednisone? I am on all of these and it seems to relieve some pain but then it all comes back. Then the doc ups the dosage but yet he will not do a Western Blot. "It is not Lyme."
Sorry to be a pest, questions keep surfacing and I am so happy to have found this site and group of people to help me. Feeling very alone with this disease.Thankyou! [hi]

Hi,

You will get many more replies if you post this question on the Medical Questions board instead.

Perhaps a moderator will move your post there if they see it first.

I had a positive ANA too. My LLMD says that it is just an inflammatory marker and he sees many lyme patients with positive ANA's.

My ANA is much lower now after alot of treatment.

Also remember that lyme patients should not receive steroids or other immunosupressive drugs...see the third paragraph on page 12 of this important paper:

Do you plan to get an evaluation by a good LLMD?
