For about five years I've had symptoms reminiscent of lyme disease, including a stiff/sore neck, weakness and pain in my elbows, a painful lower back, and general fatigue and sluggishness. I've seen numerous family/internal doctors and had numerous blood tests, and all have come back negative for Lyme Disease. I was referred to a rheumotologist when this all started five years back and they ran tests and concluded (after an x-ray, catscan, and MRI of my neck) that it was possibly a bulging disc in my neck. A spinal surgeon agreed this was probably the problem, and because I was in pain and looking for relief, I went forward with a C5-C6 spinal fusion, which had no impact on my neck, elbow, back pain, or fatigue symptoms. The pain has persisted the last five years, and I have seen a chiropractor and physical therapist, who have not had any impact in easing my symptoms. I have a friend with similar symptoms and he is seeing a specialist in Pennsylvania who provided a more in-depth Lyme Disease test (beyond bands 1-10) and actually found he did have the illness. I'm convinced either I have some similar form of the illness or some similar illness that doctors have just not been able to diagnose or not made the effort to diagnose. I'm hoping I can identify a Lyme Disease specialist who can help get the help that I need, as I have lived in pain for five years, and nobody seems to care or been able to help me.

He is a saint and I show this to help illustrate how MD's have been prosecuted so normal MD's shy away from doing anything but following the flawed IDSA guidelines.
