I currently see Dr. C in NY but my husband and I are relocating in the next year to Cincinnati, OH. Would truly appreciate any feedback on your experiences with any docs within an 8 hour radius of Ohio. Thank you!

Could someone also send me feedback on Dr. R in OH. I am trying to help a very dear friend of mine, and she has been on treatment for about a year with no or little improvement. We are willing to drive as far as we need to for help. I just need a doctor that can really help her. She has lyme and many of the co-infections. We really need help as she is fading fast. AngieGigi - Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for OH, IN & MO. I would recommend you write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one (title it "Looking for LLMD in KY"), because most don't re-read old posts. That way, more people will see it and respond. Your dear friend needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment! A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment. Here is a link for them: http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. She needs to go where they are. I don't know of any in KY. Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this: "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance" http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0 When your friend calls for an appointment, have her ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this. Have her check the online state Lyme groups at: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/KentuckyLyme/info Maybe they can help. Some more resources for her (including Support Groups info):www.lyme-aware.org/kentucky.html www.kentuckyindianalymesupport.org http://www.lymenet.org/SupportGroups/UnitedStates/Kentucky/ The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information. Have her read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon. Also view "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com
