SEEKING DR. IN NYC TO HAVE MY SON TESTED FOR LYME DISEASE AT THE SUGGESTION OF A FRIEND. ONLY SYMPTOM IS A COUGH BUT HE SPIKES A FEVER OCCASIONALLY OVER LAST FEW WEEKS. HE SOMETIMES CRASHES AFTER SCHOOL. [EMAIL][/EMAIL]

I just want to second that due to your child's age, the only option close by is Dr J in CT. I am not sure if he is taking new patients but be persistent. My opinion though is that you should seek a full workup, many things can cause those symptoms, not just Lyme. Your ped should be willing to run a comprehensive disease workup including ehrlicia, anaplasmosis, babesia, quantitative IGG and IGM mycoplasma, ASO and Dnase levels etc. In addition to pursuing Lyme personally I would also try to get an infectious disease workup if your ped won't help. There is a pediatrician in CT closer to NYC.
Not everything is Lyme.
