I have recently been tested positive for Lyme disease and my PCP has referred me to an infectious disease specialist who is refusing to take on new patients. I don't know where to turn to get help with treatment. I found a center in Raleigh that treats lyme, but reviews for that doctor are making me doubt going there. And they want $250 to just go to an orientation session about their clinic before I even have an appointment. Please help!

PM sent for NC.

Stay away from Infectious Disease specialists - they have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

Please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
