My PCP has been very helpful, but just isn't enough anymore. Was diagnosed at age 14 about 5 years ago - severe joint pain, 103.3 fever, and 19 EM lesions. Went on your typical rounds of doxy, though vomited the majority up. Months later, was diagnosed with chronic lyme/post lyme arthritis by a pediatric rheumatologist out of mass general.
I'm looking for a doctor or doctors in the area who specialize in Lyme and are highly recommended - unfortunately I haven't found any that take my insurance. I know mass general has a lyme program, but my insurance is a tier program And mass general is a tier 3 - combine that with the cost of a specialist and its through the roof.
Ideally I'd like to discuss a picc line and whether or not it is even worth it where it's been years since my initial diagnosis. But at age 19... I'd like to not have to worry about not being able to get out of bed...
