I need a DR recommendation to check my body for other tick borne diseases. I am in CT!!

I tested positive three years ago and given the regular protocols for Lyme - 3 weeks doxycycline.

I do not know how long I had it, but never had a rash. Symptoms seemed to go away but periodically came back.

At the time I was also suffering from severe osteoarthritis and underwent a total left knee replacement so I was on celebrex and following the surgery I was told that it was normal to have some neuropathy.

However, the all over pain I feel is extremely reminiscent of the lyme symptoms I have had prior. Although the symptoms tend to wax and wane, it seems they have been holding steady since last winter and have gotten worse.

I have repeatedly asked my GP-Dr to re-test me for lyme and she repeatedly informs me that I will always test positive for lyme and that the symptoms I have been experiencing are likely not related.

Aside from the muscle, joint and soft tissue pain, it feels like molten lava is running through my veins and bones at times.

I have muscle spasms, I often wake up with numbed forearms and as if little spiders are crawling over my calves, shins and tops of my feet.

My memory is not what it used to be and I have a lot of foggy moments and I am constantly exhausted.

I can get something started or completely, but then I have to rest – a lot.

I have always been a night owl, but now I can’t keep my eyes open past 8 pm, up at 3am due to pain, back asleep by 4 or 5 and then up for work.

I end up weeping in pain by 2pm at my desk.

I’ve been searching for a dr who will listen to me and help me, but I’m afraid to just go to anyone only to start over again.

I am currently seeing a neurologist who is testing for nerve or muscle damages, but everything keeps coming back normal. I have had tests done for RA, sjorgens (sp), HIV, lupus, hepatitis. Everything comes back normal or negative. And this Dr won’t bother checking for lyme either.

Please and thank you!!

Three weeks of doxycycline is rarely IF EVER enough to knock it OUT.

Surgery can cause relapses... So you must find a Dr willing to treat you.

I sent you some info.
