I currently live in south florida, between Palm Beach and Broward county. i need a doctor anywhere in south florida or florida in general.

I got diagnosed with lyme in 2009. i am from north new jersey, i did the oral antibiotic treatment in 09 the muscular shots of penicillin. then stopped treatment for 3 years. i am a drug addict and was using on an off for two years. i was definitely self medicating. i am in so much pain being sober that i take suboxone for pain management cause i can't take painkillers like a normal person. basically i need to get treatment the right treatment so i can get better. i saw a LLMD Dr. P i just want to see if there is anyone else around here or if i should go back to her. [confused]

**edited out city and last name of LLMD**

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for FL.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease and its complex treatment!

When you call for an appointment, ask if there are any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/floridalyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups):
www.lyme-aware.org/florida.html

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Do check the support groups for the best info. Dr P may have retired. I'm not sure.

WELCOME!! [Smile]

Hoping and praying, can you forward the names to me as well. I was seeing a doctor in Tampa but he has just retired. It doesn't have to be just Florida if you have the name of someone who is very good on the East Coast I would consider that as well
Thank you

Tgym - sent info for FL (I only have one name).

Also sent you names for the East coast. All the best LLMDs are very tough to get into, if at all! Perseverance can pay off, however!
