We are starting to look for a LLMD in the area to consult with regarding our son's Lyme disease. He has been diagnosed with Lyme disease (blood tests) and is showing 8 out of 10 bands positive (if I remember right). He has been on antibiotics (Amoxycillin as he is 6) for over a month and his knees are still swollen.
Can someone recommend steps we should take next or a LLMD?
Thanks

Your dear son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment.
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.
Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease.
