Hello, posting on behalf of my husband, who we believe is suffering from Lyme and/or a coinfection for over six months now.

He has all the classic symptoms such as joint pain, twitches, eye floaters, fatigue etc and his symptoms "move" from one part of the body to another. For example, he'll have stomach issues, then joint pain in his arms, then he'll go through a period of brain fog.

Because of this, we've done the classic doctor shuffle, going to see one specialist to another-- All who say he is fine and pin him as a hypochondriac and just give him anxiety meds. His Labcorp Lyme western blot came back negative.

We are looking for an LLMD in the Wilkes-barre/Scranton/Allentown heck, even Philadelphia area.

Thank you so much for your help and am so happy we found your forum!!!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA.

Your dear husband needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

"It's all in your head" is a common "diagnosis" the non LLMDs give when they don't know what's going on!! Many have experienced the same thing so he's in good company.

LLMDs are far and few between - you need to go where they are!

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005s

He needs to get tested through IGeneX Labs in Palo Alto, CA.

When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pennsylvanialyme

Maybe they can help you.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
